To promote, support, coordinate and regulate the development under application of science, technology and innovation in order to create wealth and improve the quality.

Our Aim

The Innovation Portal Community seeks to be a not-for-profit open innovation platform that brings entrepreneurship ecosystem stakeholders together for the benefit of innovators and entrepreneurs. It seeks to promote collaboration amongst public and private ecosystem stakeholders, to become that "one-stop shop" repository of information, opportunity, and network connection to help entrepreneurs and innovators along their journey. The digital community wishes to create a pathway for all Malawian entrepreneurs and innovators to effectively realise their vision.

You can submit your innovation through our online submission form. Please provide as much detail as possible about your innovation, including its purpose, benefits, and how it works.

After you submit your innovation, it will be reviewed by our team of experts. If your innovation is selected, we will contact you to discuss the next steps.

We take the protection of your innovation seriously. All submissions are kept confidential and are only shared with our team of experts for review.

We provide a range of support for innovators, including mentorship, funding, and access to a network of industry experts and potential partners.

Intellectual property rights are rights given to individuals over the creations of their mind. These rights include 1. Patents: These are exclusive rights confered to inventors of new scientific products and processes 2. Industrial design: These are rights offered for new and original outward appearances of products 3. Trademark: These are rights offered for the use of symbols, signs that distinguish one good or services from others 4. Geographical Indications: Geographical indicators are used for products that have a specific origin and possess qualities because of that origin eg Champagne in France 5. Plant Breeders rights: means exclusive rights offered to breeders of new plant varieties. The list mentioned above requires registration for one to enjoy the rights. The following IP rights do not require registration. 1. Copyright: These are rights confered to creators of artistic and literary works such as books, music, software 2. Trade Secret: A trade secret is confidential business information and expertise that has a particular value to a business, including chemical formulas, processing methods, business or client databases
